MBKU Pharmacy Shadowing Program- Psychiatric Pharmacy Experience
Description
Students shadowing psychiatric pharmacist, Dr. Tiffany Khieu, will be exposed to the unique role of pharmacists in medication management within an inpatient psychiatric setting. Commonly treated psychiatric illnesses include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Under the discretion and supervision of Dr. Khieu, students will walk in the psychiatric unit's milieu and observe daily activities. Students will observe the pharmacist's assessment and intervention of patient-specific medications and observe patient case discussions of P4 pharmacy students and pharmacy residents on their psychiatry rotation (when available).
