MBKU Pharmacy Shadowing Program- Hospital Setting
Description
Students shadowing infectious disease (ID) pharmacist, Dr. Joshua Garcia, will gain firsthand exposure to the critical role pharmacists play in managing infectious diseases and supporting antimicrobial stewardship. During their shadowing experience, students will observe clinical ID rounds with the ID physician* and ID pharmacists (when available), observe pharmacists and pharmacy student evaluation and intervention of patients on antibiotics via antimicrobial stewardship, and observe patient case discussion of P4 pharmacy students on their clinical ID rotations, gaining insight into their experience.
*For students interested in observing clinical ID rounds with ID physicians please note those opportunities are available during Tuesday Sessions*

Yes, students participating in MBKU's Shadowing Program must wear business professional attire and closed toed shoes.
No, participants in MBKU's Shadowing Program do not have to show proof of immunization/vaccination to participate.
Yes, upon arrival participants will be required to sign a HIPAA form in order to participate.
Students can park at the Providence St. Jude Medical Center – E. Val Mesa Dr. entrance (110 E Valencia Mesa Dr, Fullerton, CA 92835). The parking lot is shared between the hospital and Fullerton Tennis Center.
Instructions: As students enter the parking lot via E. Val Mesa Dr., they will exit the roundabout and enter through the parking gate. The will take a parking ticket from the attendant or kiosk and hold onto the ticket until they exit the parking lot at the end of the day (MBKU will cover the cost of parking). Once the students have parked, students will enter the hospital and check in with Dr. Garcia.
